EBIFour.com Training Clarify QRGs Updating the Local Test Server
Updating the Local Test Server
23rd April 2016
If you’ve recently updated your EBI / Clarify Studio to the
latest version, you may be required to update the Local Test Server for local
testing. Studio and Server environments
must be on the same version, and is recommended to update all environments when
new updates are available.
Updating your Local Test Server, and other EBI Server
environments, such as Production and Test, can easily be accomplished with an
internet connection in a few moments.
If you’ve already updated the EBI Studio, you may receive an incompatibility
warning, as shown below.
You can find the version of your Local Test Server by starting the Local Test Server and selecting the View Server Information button in the toolbar, pictured below.
And a dialog box will display with the Local Test Server information, including version and license content.
Our Local Test Server is on Version 4.1.0, however, our EBI Studio is on Version 4.3.0. Our Local Test Server must be updated to match the version of our Studio. To update, follow these steps.
1. Start your Local Test Server. Once it is started, you must Suspend your Local Test Server by selecting the Suspend Server button in the toolbar, as shown below.
2. Once your Local Test Server is suspended, additional toolbar options are enabled. Select Update Server.
3. A list of Available Server Updates is displayed. Expand the Server Update and verify the latest version to be installed. This particular version is 4.3.3.201603011502. Which includes the major version number (4.3), minor version number (.3), and date the upgrade or update was released (.2016 [year] 03 [month] 01 [day] 1502 [time]). Choose the checkbox for the Server to be updated and select Next.
4. Verify the upgrade
to be installed and select Finish.
5. You may receive a popup in regards to increasing the minor version number for your EBI Studio, which also may require a subsequent update to the EBI Server. It is recommended to also follow these steps to update your additional EBI Servers, such as Test and Production.
When the installation has successfully completed, the Local Test Server will automatically shut down and must be manually started again by accessing the EBI Server environment itself. This is especially important for your EBI Production Server, as it must be started from that system and cannot be started through the EBI Studio. Select Yes to proceed with the update.
6. The Local Test Server begins installing. This process will only take a few moments.
7. When completed, you will receive a notification that the update was installed successfully.
8. Lastly, verify that your Local Test Server has successfully updated to the latest version by starting the server and then, select the View Server Information button in the toolbar to display the version.
