In Extol Business Integrator 2.6, Clarify 4.5 and lower, users are accustomed to using formulas. In Clarify 4.6+ the new rulesets (Version 2) will use JAVA.
The old way allowed users to implement the Formula object to create a custom statement in order to perform custom calculations and return values in the Ruleset.
The new engine supports the use of custom Java classes, as Actions, in the Ruleset.
The New Way supports scanning for and replace values in large sets of data in the ruleset without depending on defining parameters as well as the properties such as classpath, class, and method.
Notes from Clarify Help Text:
- Must extend Abstract Action.
- Must have an “execute” method.
- Parameters must of a type from the com.extol.ebi.ruleset.lang.core package: Boolean, DateTime, List, Number, Object, String, SourceNode.
- Return type must be of a type from the com.extol.ebi.ruleset.lang.core package: Boolean, DateTime, List, Number, Object, String, SourceNode.
