Performing Server Database Back-ups

On a regular basis, users should configure QA and Production servers to perform a back-up of internal Postgre database tables.

SCHEDULER SET-UP

Users will want to set-up the Microsoft Scheduler to run the commands below, on a nightly basis

Cleo Clarify Backup in Microsoft Scheduler


WINDOWS PROCESS:

Navigate to directory: cd C:\EXTOL\EBI4_Server\utils

Execute: C:\EXTOL\EBI4_Server\utils\backup_db_execute

LINUX PROCESS:

Navigate to directory: cd opt/EXTOL/EBI4_Server/utils

Execute: sh ./backup_db_execute.sh


EXAMPLE BACK-UP LOG:

Jobs value not set! Setting to default value of 10…
Found the PostgreSQL plugin… D:\EBI43_Server\plugins\com.extol.ebi.runtime.postgresql.windows_4.1.0.201602171048\pgsql\bin\pg_dump

Found the shared.properties file…
Found the Port… 5432
Found the Database Name… postgres
Found the JDBCSetup.properties file…
Found the Database Host… localhost
Found the Database User… postgres
Found the Database Password…
Removing old Postgres backup dir…
