Clarify 4.6+ :: DateTime - New Variable Type

In Cleo Clarify 4.6+ Version 2 Rulesets, users will be able to use the new Variable Type: DateTime

The DateTime variable type holds the representation of a date and/or time in the format of number of milliseconds

Old Way :: Version 1 with ConvertDateFormat()

new ConvertDateFormat().execute(this.documentDate, “yyyy-MM-dd”, “yyyyMMdd”) => #[this.documentDate]

New Way :: Version 2

Two Actions will help us use the DateTime variable:

  • CreateDateTimeFromString
  • FormatDateTime

Step 1 :: CreateDateTimeFromString

Clarify 4.6 Ruleset CreateDateTimeFromString Action

Action: CreateDateTimeFromString

  • Define Inputs (01092017)
  • Define the pattern (mmddyyyy)
  • Use “DT” as output.


Step 2 :: FormatDateTime

Clarify 4.6 Ruleset FormatDateTime Action


Action: FormatDateTime

  • Define inputs, using “DT”.
  • Define the pattern. (mmddyyyy)
  • Write the string out to target.
