1st Impressions of Clarify Version/Engine 2 :: Part 1

11th February 2017

As Cleo Clarify users start using using Clarify’s latest Version/Engine 2 features, there are alot of questions about how to make sure it is done correctly.

We are finding the process to be the same process we have been using since 2004 with Extol Business Integrator; painless and a very thought-out process.

In Part 1 of our series of exploring Clarify Version/Engine 2, we will show a few differences of a Ruleset.

Phase 1 of Clarify 4.6+

For existing Clarify users, they will want to first convert their objects to 4.6+ compatible objects, in which I would call Phase 1 of Cleo Clarify 4.6

Phase 2 of Clarify 4.6+

Once the Clarify objects are converted NEW rulesets can be created using Verion/Engine 2. In our 1st impression/implementation, we are creating a transformation process to translate an inbound x12 940 to database tables.

As we set-up our rules, we the Set Empty task, is no longer available. In the example below we use RawMove task

Another example, is using the Rule Condition: IsNotNullOrWhiteSpaces. Previously, we would have used HasContent.

More 1st Impressions….

In Part 2 of 1st Impressions of Clarify Version/Engine 2, we will review Business Processes and Database Adapters.

Part 3 will cover Clarify Auditor and the formatting of the errors.
