JSON 101 Mapping in Cleo Clarify

18th October 2020

In our earlier Cleo Clarify post How-to Create Clarify JSON Schema from Sample Data, we discussed how to copy/paste and import a JSON schema.

In another JSON Clarify post we discussed JSON Ruleset-Schema mapping for Data Arrays

In our post below we will walk thru Cleo Clarify end-users thru setting up a Clarify JSON Ruleset.

1. Create JSON Ruleset

Using the Cleo Clarify Wizard, we will select Ruleset

Note: When we created the JSON source schema we validated the data via https://jsonlint.com

2. Identify Source/Target Schemas

For our example we will use JSON as our Source syntax, and database as our Target syntax.

3. Create Ruleset Tasks

Our schemas will be shown across the top (below)

The rules, in our newly create JSON Clarify Ruleset, will represent the hierarchy (source/target) and moving the values.

4. Test Clarify JSON Ruleset

Using Clarify’s interactive testing tool we identify the source and target data sets.

When we run the data, we are looking to create the target data in a database format (below)
